Lead Design Engineer – Advanced Robotics

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be designing and developing the mechatronic systems and structure that serves as the foundation for the humanoid robot. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the feasibility, manufacturability, and scalability of robotic components and systems. Role

The Lead Design Engineer - Advance Robotics role is based out of the corporate headquarters in Noida. A person in this role will be responsible to design the appearance and physical structure of the robot as per different form factors incorporating different features, movements and interaction points so that the humanoid robot reproduces the movement of a human body in a clean and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  1. Design the appearance and physical structure of the robot as per different form factors incorporating different features and movements and interaction points.
  2. Develop innovative and efficient designs for humanoid robots and different internal robotic sub-systems that integrate multiple components like actuators, motors, sensors, joints and structures etc.
  3. Oversee and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring they align with design specifications.
  4. Handling day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensure process efficiency.
  5. Perform quick simulations of the design and collaborate with vendors to verify the feasibility and manufacturability of designs.
  6. Select appropriate material and components for robots, assist in their design, manufacturability, durability and safety.
  7. Periodic support testing and troubleshooting activities, incorporate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders to update the design as and when required.
  8. Manage daily activities of reportees and develop plans to ensure productivity and goal alignment.
  9. Supervise the assembly process to ensure all components are assembled correctly and operations proceed as planned.

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Required Years of Experience

  • B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or M.Tech in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Mechanical, Engineering or any related fields
  • Years of experience: 4 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably within the automotive industry
